NRG was a tangent off the original two member group 'Hamo Hamo'. NRG debuted in September 1997 with the song "HalSooEetSuh!". NRG, meaning New Radiency Group consists of five members, Lee Sung Jin and Chun Myung Hoon (both of Hamo Hamo), Moon Sunghoon, Noh Yoo Min, and Kim Hwan Sung. The rumour was that after Hamo Hamo's first album performances were over, the original two member group was going to expand to five, with the name Hamo Hamo. But after the expansion, 'Hamo Hamo' didn't fit the new group, so they made the name NRG.

NRG has performed three songs off of their debut album: "HalSooEetSuh!", "Breakfast at Tiffany's", and "MiSo." HalSooEetSuh is a real upbeat dance song with some great dancing, Breakfast at Tiffany's is a slow song with a great remix that makes it into a fast song, and MiSo is a fast disco song. In the Summer of '98 they went to prepare their second album as NRG.

NRG's sophomore album's title song is "SaRang ManDerGee" and that song had success by staying in the top ten for many weeks. This song was an uplifting song a lot like "HalSoo EetSuh"!. Their second song off that album was "Messenger" which was a robotic upbeat song that had some great choreographing.
